The West Norwood Commercial Area and Norwood High Street play an important part in the economy of the West Norwood town centre. However, not many people know about the diversity of businesses and opportunities for growth, especially in the Commercial Area.

We are collaborating with local businesses and the Station-to-Station Business Improvement District to create a new, exciting brand for the West Norwood Commercial Area, which will help to attract new customers and show businesses that it is a great place to be located.

The Commercial Area is home to a real mix of businesses, many of whom have been in the area for a long time, such as the renowned paint manufacturer Mylands, perfume manufacturer Milton Lloyd, Winn and Coales (Denso) and the Blackbird Bakery. The area is not only home to manufacturers, there are also wholesalers, professional services and a number of creative and community spaces, including Portico Gallery, ACME Studios and Edmund de Waal’s pottery studio.

The new place brand will help to build knowledge and recognition of the distinctive mix of businesses and give the Commercial Area a sense of identity; with new signage which will help people find their way around and link the area together. We will also improve how the area is advertised online, so that potential customers and new businesses can find useful information in one place.
