Garden Museum

The Garden Museum is working with the local community, to transform 5.3 acres of open space around their site into a new public park called Lambeth Green.

Lambeth Green will connect seven spaces – from the Embankment to Old Paradise Gardens – through naturalistic planting designed for community use, maintained by Museum staff, volunteers and local people.

Through this project, The Garden Museum will run a year-long community gardening project for residents to create and maintain a medicinal healing garden in Old Paradise Gardens. This aims to give local residents the opportunity to help build the garden, learn new skills, and unite. Residents will be invited to build, plant, and maintain sustainable planting beds, learning how to construct the beds, how to grow herbs and vegetables from seed, plant identification, composting, pruning, using tools, seasonality.
