Led by a qualified nutritionist, the course covers practical cooking, nutrition basics, food safety, and zero-waste principles.
Participants gain a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, cook together in a professional kitchen, and bring their skills back to their community by planning and sharing a group meal.
The course is open to volunteers from organisations in Lambeth’s Community Connections areas, with priority for those linked to groups receiving weekly food from HLP’s Surplus Food Hub.
Places are also reserved for sanctuary seekers.
Graduates can level up to Food Ambassador Pro, an advanced programme focused on food enterprise, linking participants with local chefs and caterers. Together, these programmes build skills, boost confidence, reduce food waste, and spread good food knowledge where it matters most - right at the heart of the community.
