Kinetika Bloco

This project’s aim is to work with 14 to 25 year olds to give them a better chance in life through access to high-quality, supported, and meaningful creative activity with a social conscience.

The project will also help develop their educational and social skills. The aim is that those who experience Kinetika Bloco will develop skills and knowledge that can be used to progress their education, help them to enjoy culture and creativity, and carry it into their future to impact their work and social life in Lambeth and beyond.

They will meet these aims by running a 2-week summer school in samba drumming, steel pans, brass/woodwind, and dance for 150 young people ensuring that they have positive engagements over the long summer break.

They will then run a Leadership Programme, where 25 to 30 young people will attend a one-week intensive Leadership Bootcamp which is facilitated by leaders from business, finance, the military, sport, and culture, covering key themes such as authenticity, resilience, emotional intelligence, self-confidence, and presentation skills.
