Key priorities include refreshing the management committee with members who bring strong English skills and expertise in finance, safeguarding, and governance to better support the project manager, who currently relies on informal assistance from family and friends.
LEAV’s current administrative systems, including filing and policy documentation, are in need of thorough review and updating to ensure they meet current best practices. Similarly, while the existing website reflects the organisation’s passion and commitment, it requires redevelopment on a more accessible and manageable platform to improve usability and outreach.
With the grant, LEAV intends to hire consultants to lead improvements in fundraising, internal systems, governance, communications, and strategic planning. The grant will support developing a robust fundraising strategy, creating funding templates, gathering academic evidence of impact, and exploring collaboration opportunities with other organisations, including shared premises.
Additional training will be provided for staff and volunteers in IT skills, diversity, and volunteer management.
This strategic investment will lay the foundation for LEAV’s long-term sustainability and enhanced community impact.
