This work builds on established partnerships with the NHS and social prescribing teams (Lambeth Carer’s Hub, Alzheimer’s Society, Age-Exchange) and insights from around 20 local people living with dementia and their carers.
Funding will allow LHT to engage additional key partners such as Age UK Lambeth, Magnolia Clubs, and the Lambeth Dementia Action Alliance. They will also consult with research and practice networks including the Dementia Community Research Network at King’s and the Butterfly Café at the Maudsley.
Their main aims are to gain a clear understanding of local need through consultation and accurate mapping of services, to ensure wide participation from local partners in shaping and co-designing the café, and to collaborate with delivery partners like the Dot Collective and The Remakery to develop a creative programme and define full project costs for future grant fundraising.
