Lambeth Council aims to increase canopy cover across the borough and aim to plant 5000 trees between 2022 and 2026. Regrettably though, there are instances where we need to fell trees. Most street trees are felled because they are dead, irreparably damaged (for example by vehicle collisions) or decaying to the point where they are structurally unsound. Lambeth is working with the Football Foundation to develop new Football Facilities in the Borough. The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has decided to hold a period of further limited consultation in five proposed new wards, Clapham Common, Stockwell East and Landor, West Norwood, Gipsy Hill, and West Dulwich and St Martin’s wards.
