Background/ProposalsThe much loved and well used playground at Ruskin Park needs investment to update the equipment as the playground has reached the end of it’s life. This is an opportunity to improve the position of entrances and, the space between the paddling pool, kiosk, toilets and playground. The proposed playground is larger and aims to cater for children of all ages. This is the first phase improvements to this corner of the park, with a future plans to provide new facilities for basketball and other games on part of the current gravel pitches. Lambeth and the Friends of Ruskin Park have worked with Turkington Landscape Architects and Kompan play to develop the playground proposals and the wider proposals for the area. You are invited to comment on the design, layout, range of equipment and any other thoughts you may have to inform decision prior to the playground being built. Next stepsAfter the close of the consultation, the responses will be collated and a report summarising the results will be made available. The design team will review the feedback and consider amendments to the design. Construction of the new play area is expected to start at the beginning of September after the school holidays once the paddling pool season has concluded. Construction is expected to be complete by Christmas 2023. |
