Emergencies
Avoid floodwater if possible – it can be very polluted and conceal dangerous debris or strong currents.
If your home is flooding, follow the London Fire Brigade’s advice on flood water coming into my home.
If your street is flooding and there is an immediate or growing risk to people or property, follow the London Fire Brigade’s advice on my street is flooding.
For further advice during a flood:
- follow guidance from the National Flood Forum on During a flood
- call the National Flood Forum helpline on 01299 403 055
- call the 24-hour Environment Agency’s Floodline on 0345 988 1188
Non-urgent issues
If there is no immediate risk, you should report:
- sewage or mains water leaks - view and report a problem on the Thames Water website
- blocked highway drains - report a highway issue
- blocked drains on red routes - contact us about streets and road issues on the Transport for London website
- general issues and enquiries - email us at sustainability@lambeth.gov.uk

The following resources can help with understanding what to do if you’ve been flooded.

Once everyone is safe, please notify sustainability@lambeth.gov.uk. This helps the flood risk management team to understand local issues and protect the borough from flooding in future.
