What happens if I don’t pay an FPN?

Failure to pay will result in further action being taken against you, which may include prosecution in a court of law.

Pay an FPN fine online

We may refer your case for prosecution at a magistrates' court if:

  • you don't pay the FPN within 14 days from the date of issue
  • you have not provided reasonable grounds for non-payment.

If this happens, you could get a fine of up to £1,000 for dog fouling and £2,500 for littering.
