Contact the Housing Advice team

Where you are not able to resolve your own housing issues using the information provided, you may benefit from contacting the housing advice team.

If you would like to contact the Housing Advice team and make a homelessness application, call 020 7926 4200 (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday).

Support with homelessness

If you are currently homeless or at risk of losing your current home and have nowhere else to move to there are options available. Visit our updated webpages to see what solutions may be right for you.

For more help if you are homeless or about to become homeless, you can contact us.

We will work with you to keep you in your current accommodation or help you to find alternative accommodation, which is likely to be private rented accommodation.

You can apply online if you want council housing. Please note the Housing Advice team cannot allocate or fast track you to council housing.

If you have No Recourse to Public Funds, you should read this important information first.

If you are rough sleeping our day centres are also available to help you.

What happens next

You will be asked some questions to get basic details about yourself and about the problem.

You may then be called back by our Housing Advice team to get more details and you may be given an appointment for an assessment.

At the appointment we will decide what help the law says we must give you and may make a Personal Housing Plan with you. This will have actions for you to take and for us to take to sort out your housing situation.

The amount of assistance you will receive will be determined by your situation.

We follow the national Homelessness Code of Guidance for Local Authorities to determine the level of support you will receive.

Shelter provide a useful guide on what level of support you can expect to receive.

What to do in an out-of-hours emergency

If you need assistance at evenings or weekends when the service is closed, call 0207 926 1000.

Concerns that someone is rough sleeping

You can notify us using the StreetLink website.

The StreetLinkteam will ensure that the appropriate outreach team (currently Lambeth Rough Sleeping Outreach Service) is informed, so that they can locate and support the person with a route off the street.
