This proposed £8million investment will support the economic recovery of Waterloo and the South Bank following the COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting this area's status as a thriving cultural and business centre in London.
The designs reimagine the local streets, prioritising pedestrians and cyclists, improving the public space, and making the area more climate resilient. This will be achieved through planting of green space, creation of new pedestrian spaces, and traffic restrictions.
This investment will celebrate and highlight the area’s unique characteristics as an international destination, creating public spaces that are accessible, inclusive, and safe for people living, working, and visiting the area. They have been developed following consultation and engagement with stakeholders.
