What is the current status of the proposed CPZ?

Following the Council’s decision to proceed with on proposals to introduce parking controls in the St Leonard’s Area, the Statutory Consultation will commence today 7 May 2021 and close on 4 June 2021.

What are the plans?

The council agreed to proceed with a statutory consultation to:

•    introduce a new controlled parking zone “St Leonard’s North (Zone I)” with controlled hours 12pm to 2pm Monday to Friday. Pay by Phone facility to operate with a 1-hour maximum stay and no return within 1 hour.

•    introduce a new controlled parking zone “St Leonard’s Central (Zone O)” with controlled hours 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. Pay by Phone facility to operate with a 4-hour maximum stay and no return within 1 hour.

•    introduce a new controlled parking zone “Stanthorpe Triangle (Zone U)” with controlled hours 12pm to 2pm Monday to Friday. Pay by Phone facility to operate with a 1-hour maximum stay and no return within 1 hour.

Whilst it is proposed to not introduce parking controls in the “St Leonard’s South” and “Streatham Vale West” areas, it is proposed to undertake statutory consultation to introduce “at any time” (double yellow line) waiting restrictions at key locations such as junctions, cul-de-sacs and locations where traffic flow would be impeded by parked vehicles.
