Design Review Panel guide

Use this guide to learn more about the Design Review Panel (DRP).

Types of review and the review process

There are three types of design review:

  1. Full Review.
  2. Follow-Up Review.
  3. Chair Review.

The Conservation and Urban Design Team will advise which review is best for your scheme.

The review day

Morning
Panel members undertake a site visit accompanied by council officers. The applicant isn't present.

Afternoon
Reviews take place. Applicants and relevant planning and design officers will be present during the review. The development team should keep their numbers to a minimum, with no more than five people attending the review. The design officers will take note of the panel discussion to inform the content of the Chair’s feedback letter. The letter is sent to the development team within 10 days of the review.
