Contact Lambeth Council
You can also report concerns to Lambeth Council by emailing: e-scootertrial@lambeth.gov.uk
We use reports to:
- identify locations where enforcement may be needed
- monitor recurring problems
- monitor operator performance
- help plan new or larger parking bays
We prioritise reports about urgent safety or accessibility issues. We may not be able to reply individually to general feedback. If you need an individual vehicle to be moved or removed, contact the operator directly.
Urgent safety and accessibility issues
Contact the operator immediately if a rental e-bike or e-scooter is causing an immediate danger or seriously blocking the pavement.
Tell them if the vehicle is:
- blocking the whole pavement
- blocking a dropped kerb
- preventing wheelchair or mobility aid access
- lying in the road or a cycle lane
- creating an immediate safety risk
Call 999 if there is an immediate danger to life or an emergency that needs the police, ambulance or fire service.
Where to park rental e-bikes and e-scooters
Lambeth uses a bay-only parking system.
You must leave rental e-bikes and e-scooters in a designated dockless parking bay at the end of your journey.
When parking a rental e-bike or e-scooter:
- park it fully inside the marked bay
- leave it upright and stable
- make sure it does not extend outside the bay
- do not block the pavement
- do not block dropped kerbs or pedestrian crossings
- do not block entrances, bus stops or emergency access
- make sure there is enough space for wheelchair users, visually impaired people and people using mobility aids
If a bay is full, use the operator's app to find another parking bay.
Vehicles parked outside a designated bay may be moved or removed by the operator or the council's enforcement team.
Operators may also take action against users who repeatedly park outside designated bays.
Privately owned e-scooters
You cannot legally use a privately owned e-scooter on:
- public roads
- pavements
- cycle lanes
- cycle tracks
- other public highways
Report the illegal use of privately owned e-scooters to the Metropolitan Police.
Lambeth Council cannot investigate privately owned e-scooters as operator-related incidents.
How rental e-bikes and e-scooters are managed
Lambeth Council works with the operators to manage rental e-bike and e-scooter services in the borough.
Operators are expected to meet requirements around:
- parking and managing vehicles
- moving vehicles that cause an obstruction
- responding to safety and accessibility issues
- managing the number and location of vehicles
- sharing data with the council
- managing parking bays
We use information from residents, operators and enforcement activity to identify recurring problems and places where new or larger parking bays may be needed.
