We offer appointments from 9.00am-4.00pm, Monday-Friday.

The Register Office is closed on the first Wednesday of every month from 1.00pm and the register office reception will be closed between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

We understand that registering a death can feel like a daunting experience. It might be helpful to know what to expect when you attend your appointment.

We ask that you arrive at the Register Office 10 minutes before your appointment. There may be times where we are running late, but we will do our best to see you as soon as possible. Our appointment rooms are quite small - they can comfortably accommodate two informants, however we will do our best if more people wish to attend the appointment.

Please check in with the Registrar on reception when you arrive. They may ask you if you would like to order death certificates if you haven't already pre ordered them. The registrar undertaking your appointment will ask you questions in a particular way, this is a requirement of the registration.

Once they have asked you for information to register the death, they will print off the register page for you to check. Once you have checked that the information is correct, you will be asked to sign the register page.

At this point, the Registrar will issue any certificates that you have purchased, and they will also issue the Green (if required) and will issue the Tell Us Once code, which you will then complete once you have left the appointment.
