We want your views on our proposals to introduce CPZs in the St Leonard's & Streatham Vale West area. Please complete our survey below. The consultation runs from 2 to 30 September 2019.

What is happening in this area?

Local residents told us repeatedly about parking problems in the Streatham area. Generally, residents felt the problem was being caused by commuters who park and complete their journey by public transport or those working in nearby businesses. In February 2019 we asked residents to let us know if they would like to be consulted on the introduction of CPZs.

Following the Council’s decision to consult this area on proposals to introduce CPZs, we are now seeking views on the introduction of CPZs in three Streatham Wards: St Leonards, Streatham South and Streatham Wells.

What are the plans?

After careful consideration, the Council has decided to consult you on proposals to introduce CPZs in St Leonards ward and Streatham Vale West. This is because the area is currently under acute parking stress due to the railway station. It is felt it could not withstand any further pressure from displacement as a result of a possible St Leonard’s CPZ.

As part of the consultation, we would like to know the preferred days and times of operation for controlled parking.

The decision on whether or not to proceed with the next steps, which would involve a statutory consultation on the proposals, will be subject to the responses received during this stage 1 consultation.

This Stage 1 Consultation is only open to residents and businesses within the consultation area and letters have been sent to those affected. You will need to provide the unique reference number that was provided in the consultation package we sent out e.g. ‘STL9999’ when answering the survey.
