Get a device
We work with Brixton-based charity, Community TechAid, to provide Lambeth residents with digital equipment, such as laptops, tablets and smartphones.
Community TechAid recycle devices donated to them, by wiping and repairing each device and distributing it back into the community. They support residents to use these devices and access online services, to help manage their everyday lives.
Community organisations, such as schools or charities, can request a device by completing an application form on behalf of a resident. Self-referrals are not accepted.
In order for a resident to be eligible, they must be:
- 18 years old or over
- from of a low-income household
This service is free. Processing can take approximately 4 weeks, depending on availability.
For more information, please visit Community TechAid.
Other support
There are a number of other initiatives providing computers, tablets or phones to people who need them.
Lambeth libraries provide free access to computers for up to 2 hours a day. To get started, book a computer.
For support with a device if you are disabled, contact Disability Advice Service Lambeth.
Access the internet
Lambeth Libraries have free WiFi and computers to use. Staff can help you to get online.
Free data SIMs
If you are in need of internet access, you may be eligible to receive free data through our partnership with the Good Things Foundation.
The Good Things Foundation helps residents facing digital exclusion by providing free data sims to access online services for health, education, employment, as well as to stay in touch with loved ones.
Residents must be referred by a Lambeth Council officer. This may include housing officers, social workers, family support workers, employment advisors, libraries and more.
If you believe you may be eligible, please email your contact details to digitalinclusion@lambeth.gov.uk and we will be in touch.
