Resident Engagement Structure 2019

Area Boards

There are two Area Boards, North and South, that correspond to the strategic housing areas. Each Board is made up of members that are nominated by their registered  Tenants and Residents Associations and self-nominated residents from the Lambeth 500. Area boards concentrate on service improvements and monitoring the performance of the area housing officers and its contractors.

Resident Engagement Strategic Board

There Resident Engagement Strategic Board is made up of the Chairs and Vice Chairs of Area Boards with additional seats available for resident representatives from Sheltered Housing Forum, TMO Liaison Committee, Myatts Field North, and Homes for Lambeth. This group of residents is responsible for planning and organising assembles, commissioning task and finish groups, and is focused on ensuring residents are considered in service improvements and initiatives.

Assemblies

There are three types of assemblies that are initiated and planned by the Resident Engagement Strategic Board. It is expected that assemblies will return in 2023 following a multi-year disruption due to the Covid pandemic.

  • Resident Assembly – held annually and includes presentations and workshops of interest to all residents as well as opportunity for residents to network with each other
  • Tenant Assembly – held annually and includes presentations and workshops of specific interest to council tenants
  • Homeowner Assembly – held annually and includes presentations and workshops of specific interest to council homeowners

Resident Panels

As part of the Resident Engagement structure we convene panels on topics of particular interest to residents and the council such as procurement, fire safety, and anti social behaviour.

Task and finish groups

These are commissioned by the Resident Engagement Strategic Board to scrutinise housing services. Services areas are recommended by Area Boards and decided following discussion and consideration with officers.
