No recourse to public funds - NRPF

Help if you have no recourse to public funds (NRPF)

If you have no recourse to public funds (NRPF), Lambeth Council can help. We support children, families, and adults who are at risk of homelessness or cannot afford basic needs.

What is NRPF?

NRPF is a condition on your immigration status. It means you cannot get:

  • some benefits
  • help with homelessness
  • council housing

If you have NRPF, your residence permit will say "no public funds".

Who can get help?

We help:

  • Families who are homeless or cannot afford basic needs.
  • Adults with disabilities who need care.

How to apply:

Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. For help outside these hours, contact 0207 926 5555

Useful information:

School uniforms:

Schools can help NRPF families with uniforms. Lambeth Council encourages schools to provide uniforms for children seeking sanctuary. Schools can claim £100 per child from Lambeth Sanctuary Services.

Free school meals:

Children in NRPF households can get free school meals if they meet income limits.

Complaints process:

We accept that things can go wrong but we want to get them right. If you are not happy about the way you have been treated, you have a right to complain and your complaint may help to improve services for everyone.

How to raise a complaint?

Ask to speak to the relevant social worker or their manager. Telephone the Complaints Team Manager on: Phone 020 7926 9777 Or email the Complaints and Business Support:  cbsteam@lambeth.gov.uk
