January 2026 – Statutory consultation outcome
All representations received have been considered along with officers’ recommendations which were presented in a decision report for consideration by the Council’s Cabinet Member for Sustainable Lambeth and Clean Air.
After careful consideration, a decision has been made to defer the decision on the West Dulwich CPZ permit and paid for parking bays, as well as the single yellow line waiting restrictions for further consideration and review.
However, certain limited non-chargeable parking changes will be introduced. These include:
- Free time-limited shopper parking bays to provide space for customers to park for free outside the shops (on Rosendale Road, Carson Road and Idmiston Road)
- A designated loading bay facility (on Rosendale Road)
- Double yellow lines on the corners of junctions and at bends, to prevent obstructive and dangerous parking. Double yellow lines will also be introduced on Rosendale Road as part of the introduction of the Brockwell Park to Gipsy Hill Healthy Route – Phase 3
- Electric Vehicle Charging Points (EVCP) in Lamp Columns and associated parking bays to provide additional charging facilities for motorists
- New cycle hangars, to provide secure cycle storage for residents
Read the decision report which details the statutory consultation results and decisions for both the West Dulwich CPZ and proposed extension of the Brockwell Park to Gipsy Hill Healthy Route - Phase 3

What happens next?
The making of the permanent Traffic Management Orders will be published on Friday 20 February 2026 and become operational from Monday 16 March 2026. Please note that the restrictions in the orders will only become enforceable once the relevant traffic signs and road markings have been installed.
It is anticipated that works to install the double yellow lines, EVCP bays and cycle hangars in the area, with the exception of any changes on Rosendale Road, will begin in May 2026 and last approximately 2-3 weeks, weather permitting.
In the meantime, officers will start marking up the area in advance for this lining and signing work.
