Bulky waste collection of items that cannot be recycled or reused
Most Lambeth residents can book a bulky waste collection online.
Each collection costs £21.10 for up to 2 separate items or 2 bags. Additional items cost an extra £10.00 each.
You have 10 minutes to pay for your collection when you finish your booking. If you do not make the payment in this time you will have to start your booking again.
Once you've paid for your booking, it cannot be refunded if you change your mind.
What we collect
When you book a collection you'll see a list of things that can be collected.
We collect:
- white goods and large electrical items, including fridges, freezers, washing machines
- cookers
- lawnmowers
- carpets
- bed frames
- mattresses
- furniture
- televisions
- small electrical items
We do not collect:
- clinical waste
- hazardous waste
- car parts
- tyres
- plasterboard
- garden waste
- rubble, building waste or waste in heavy-duty builders bags
- very large or heavy items, such as pianos
Please note: Items that were not listed and paid for on your booking will not be collected.
If you have a lot of bulky waste to clear, our property clearance service may be more suitable.
Prepare for your collection
To make sure we're able to collect your bulky waste, follow these steps to prepare for your collection.
- Securely tie together any loose items - like wood - or put them in a strong bag. Each bundle or bag must weigh no more than 14kg.
- Roll up and tie any carpet or rugs.
- Seal fridge and freezer doors shut, so that children cannot get inside.
- Put your bulky waste outside by 6am on the day of your collection, but after 8pm on the night before your collection day.
- We'll only collect items listed and paid for on your booking.
Our collections run up to 6pm. If your collection has not been made by this time, you can report a missed collection.
Where to leave your bulky waste
If you have a front garden, put your collection:
- inside your front garden
- as close as possible to the boundary of the pavement and the garden entrance
If you do not have a front garden:
- put your collection on the pavement at the front of your property
- make sure your collection does not block the pavement
If you live on an estate and have communal bins:
- put your collection where your rubbish is usually collected from
- make sure your collection does not block the shared bins as this may delay the collection of your general rubbish
- if your estate has a designated bulky waste collection point, please leave your items there
If you're unsure where to leave your bulky waste collection, call us on 020 7926 9000.
