Voter ID
All polling stations voters must present a form of accepted Voter ID to receive their ballot paper, as per the Elections Act 2022.
What ID you’ll need to show
To vote at a polling station, you must bring one of the following forms of prescribed Voter ID with you on polling day:
- Passport issued by UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, a British Overseas Territory, EU/EEA state or Commonwealth country.
- Driving licence (or provisional driving licence) issued by UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or EU/EEA state
- Biometric Immigration Document
- Pass Card (ID card bearing Proof of Age Standards Scheme hologram)
- Defence Identity Card (Ministry of Defence Form 90)
- HM Armed Forces Veteran Card (Ministry of Defence Form 100)
- Blue Badge
- National Identity Card issued by an EU/EEA state
- Older Persons Bus Pass
- Disabled Person's Bus Pass
- Oyster 60+ Card
- Freedom Pass
- Voter Authority Certificate
Please note that:
- Only original documents will be accepted.
- Expired photo ID will be permitted as long as the photograph still looks like you.
- The name on your ID must be the same name you used to register to vote. Please let us know if you need to change your name on the electoral register.
Voter Authority Certificate
If you do not have an accepted form of photo ID, you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate. Find out more about Voter Authority Certificates here.
The deadline for new Voter Authority Certificate applications for this election is 5pm on Wednesday 23 April 2025.
Temporary Voter Authority Certificate
If you applied for a Voter Authority Certificate before Wednesday 23 April 2025 and have not received it by polling day, please contact the Electoral Services helpline on 020 7926 2254 to arrange for a Temporary Voter Authority Certificate to be issued. You’ll be able to collect this from Lambeth Town Hall to vote at your polling station on polling day.
