Notice of delay to the public inspection period of the statement of accounts (for the financial year ending 31 March 2026)
Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 and The Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 (as amended).
Notice is hereby given that Lambeth Council has not been able to publish its unaudited Statement of Accounts for the financial year ended 31 March 2026 by the statutory deadline of 30 June 2026.
Under Regulations 14 and 15 of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015 (as amended), the Council is required to publish its unaudited Statement of Accounts by 30 June 2026.
The Council regrets that this deadline has not been met. The delay is due to the complex nature of the accounting entries and disclosures in relation to Lambeth Council’s specific prior period adjustments and group accounts. The unaudited draft Accounts will be published on the Council’s website as soon as reasonably practicable.
Notice is also given that the period for the exercise of public rights under Sections 26 and 27 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 will commence on the first working day after the publication of the unaudited Statement of Accounts.
A further notice will be issued in advance of that period. This notice is given pursuant to Regulation 15(1A) of the Accounts and Audit Regulations 2015.
