Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs)

Penalty Charge Notices (PCN) are issued either on the street by our Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) or by CCTV camera.

Vehicle removals

Vehicles that are issued with a penalty charge notice (PCN) may be removed. In some cases this can happen immediately.

Our priority is to remove vehicles that are causing obstruction or danger to other road users or pedestrians, or denying access to disabled drivers or the emergency services.

Even if your vehicle is not a priority it may still be removed. You should ensure that you move your vehicle immediately after a PCN has been issued.

Further information is available on our Car pound and vehicle removals page.

Appeal against a PCN or removal of a vehicle

If your vehicle is removed and you feel it is unfair, you can appeal the removal and PCN after you have paid the penalty charge and release fees.
