Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs)
Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) are used to protect good quality trees of high amenity value.
Around 5,000 trees are protected by TPOs in Lambeth.
To check if a tree is subject to a TPO:
- make a property search using the council’s planning applications database.
- check for details by road on the Tree Preservation Order schedule.
Once a TPO has been made, the council’s consent is required before tree works (pruning, felling, topping, uprooting or any other form of damage) can be carried out.
