Garden waste

Garden waste is only collected if you subscribe to our garden waste collection service.

What we collect

Your recycling bags should be light enough for one person to lift. You can fill them with:

  • grass cuttings
  • leaves and twigs
  • weeds, shrubs, plants and flowers
  • hedge trimmings
  • fruit fallen from trees and bushes
  • branches up to 10cm diameter
  • pet bedding, from plant-eating animals only, for example rabbits and guinea pigs

What we do not collect

We do not collect:

  • soil
  • rubble
  • large branches over 10cm diameter
  • flower pots or trays
  • plastic or polystyrene
  • general rubbish
  • other recycling
  • cat or dog waste
  • bonfire ash
