Who can vote in these elections?
British, Irish, Commonwealth, qualifying European Union citizens and European Union citizens with retained rights are permitted to vote at these elections.
British citizens living overseas are not eligible to vote in these elections.
Register to vote
The deadline for registering to vote in these elections is Tuesday 23 June at midnight. Any registration applications received after this deadline will not be eligible for these elections.
The quickest and easiest way to register to vote is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
You will need your National Insurance number, if you have one, to register to vote. If you are unable to provide a valid National Insurance number, we will contact you shortly after we receive your application to request an alternative form of evidence to support your application.
