Knight’s Hill By-Election 2024

The Knights By-Election took place on Thursday 2 May 2024 to determine the local government Councillor in the Knight’s Hill ward.

Voting by post and proxy

Voting by post means we will send you a postal voting pack so you can complete your ballot paper at home and return it in the post when elections take place.

Voting by proxy means someone you trust voting on your behalf.

The deadline to apply to vote by post at this election is 5pm, Wednesday 17 April 2024

When postal ballot packs will be sent out

If you’re an existing postal voter – we will send your postal ballot pack to you around Thursday 18 April.

If we receive your valid postal voting application by Monday 8 April - We aim to send your postal ballot pack to you around Friday 19 April 2024.

If we receive your valid postal voting application between Thursday 9 April and 5pm on Wednesday 17 April (the postal vote application deadline for these elections) - We aim to send a postal ballot pack to you around Monday 22 April

Returning your postal ballot 

Your postal ballot needs to be received by 10pm on polling day, Thursday 2 May 2024 to be included in the count. Postal ballots received after this deadline will not be included.

You can return your completed postal ballot pack in one of the following ways:

  • Post it in the pre-paid envelope.
  • Deliver it to Lambeth Town Hall
  • Take it to a polling station on polling day (Thursday 2 May 2024)

If you are returning postal packs other than your own, there is a limit to how many packs you can hand in. You can hand in a maximum of 5 postal packs in addition to your own. 

If you deliver a postal vote pack to a polling station or the Town Hall, you will need to complete a declaration.

Replacements for lost or spoilt postal ballots

If you’re registered to vote by post, but have lost, spoilt, or not received your postal vote we sent to you, you can apply for a replacement.

Replacements for lost or spoilt ballots can be issued in person at Lambeth Town Hall between 9am-5pm on weekdays, from Friday 26 April.

To get your replacement postal ballot, you must bring photo ID and proof of address with you.
