Lambeth Council is consulting local schools and other interested parties about the site of the former Charles Edward Brooke School in Myatt's Field which has been closed since 2012. The consultation is on proposed loss of playing field land in accordance with Section 77 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 (as amended). Lambeth Council aims to increase canopy cover across the borough and aim to plant 5000 trees between 2022 and 2026. Regrettably though, there are instances where we need to fell trees. Most street trees are felled because they are dead, irreparably damaged (for example by vehicle collisions) or decaying to the point where they are structurally unsound. Following consultation on the London Bee Roads in 2022 proposals have been developed to improve the green spaces along Effra Road with enhanced biodiversity, planting, access and sustainable rainwater management. We want your views by completing our online survey in the webpage.

The Council has received notification from BT of its intention to remove 3 public call boxes in the Borough that are no longer needed because of poor usage.
