Fees and allowances

Pay for foster care varies depending on the type of care being provided and on the level of foster care expertise that you have.

The tables below describe the different rates. All foster carers get a general fostering allowance which is fixed.

A second competence payment is added to this based on the level of expertise of the carer.

Some types of foster care qualify for higher allowances than others.
