Learning and employment

We support and encourage all care leavers to be in education, training or to have a job. 

If you apply for a job with Lambeth Council, as a care leaver you will be guaranteed an interview if you meet the minimum requirements.

You could join one of Lambeth's many training or apprenticeship programmes offered specifically to care leavers, or continue in education to study a subject you enjoy. Visit Lambeth Made and get support in developing your skills and connecting you to employment and training opportunities.

You are entitled to certain financial support if you continue in education, start a training course or apprenticeship programme.

Your personal advisor will talk through the opportunities available to you and work with you to decide next step.
