Inviting shops

We want to make Brixton Station Road a better place to shop

The proposals will help local traders and improve the shopping experience on Brixton Station Road. The changes aim to encourage more people to use the small businesses that are on their doorstep.

There will be new power and lighting for the market stalls, and the Rec shopfronts that face the road will be brighter and more engaging.

muf is working with traders to create a clearer identity for the market, highlighting the broad range of products and services available. While improvement work is underway, events are planned to offset the disruption and invite people into the area for shopping and leisure.

Shopfronts that speak to the street

New facades for the Rec shops will balance making shopfronts inviting and private. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, muf is working with individual traders to ensure that facade changes are tailored to their needs.
