Term time only backpay frequently asked questions

The following question and answer sheet is to be used as a guide for dealing with term time only support staff pay queries. 

I have received my calculations and compared it with my colleague, and we have different figures. What should I do?

Everyone’s employment is unique and even though on the face of things, it seems that you and your colleagues have similar employment history, one small difference in starting dates or changing salaries or hours, throughout the TTO back period, may have a huge impact on your overall calculations.

A reminder that staff have different annual leave entitlements depending on their length of service; whilst you might have a higher annual leave entitlement now, this may not have been the case for the TTO period.

Annual leave entitlement

Under 5 years service

182 hours - 26 days = 56 hours Bank Holidays

5-10 years service

217 hours - 31 days = 56 hours Bank Holidays      

10 years or more

238 hours - 34 days = 56 hours Bank Holidays
