Term time only backpay frequently asked questions

The following question and answer sheet is to be used as a guide for dealing with term time only support staff pay queries. 

I haven’t had more than one job at my school but it says that I have on my COT3 settlement agreement?

In clause 1 of the COT3 where some staff are due more than one payment for the same school the following wording has been included: “…….a total of £600, (back payments of £100, £200 and £300 pertaining to more than one job held at Fenstanton Primary School…”

Some staff have had more than one job at the same school but for those that haven’t and have a number of separate payments the other reasons for this would be as follows:

  1. The school has changed in and out of Lambeth payroll and each time they were put back on the system a new pay number was generated leading to another separate payment (Gipsy Hill Federation Schools are a good example of this).
  2. The school’s status changed e.g. it became an academy which again generated a new pay number for the staff member leading to a separate payment.
