Notice appointments

The notice is valid for 12 months from the date given. Your ceremony must be conducted within the 12 month period.

Time

The Lambeth Registrar Office is extremely busy, and therefore, all customers must arrive on time for their appointment.

Customers who are 10 or more minutes late for their appointment may not be seen. This will result in you needing to arrange another appointment.

Paperwork

Customers must bring the correct paperwork. Photocopies will not be accepted.

Customers without correct paperwork may not be able to complete their notice on that day. If this is the case, another appointment will need to be arranged.

Further information on what paperwork is required to submit your notice of marriage can be found here.

Payment

Giving notice incurs a statutory fee of £35 per individual, which must be paid by card at the notice appointment. The fee is £47 for those subject to immigration control.

If your ceremony in an approved premise (the Town Hall, or Olive Morris Suite) requires a £50 deposit, this must be paid in full when giving your notice.

If you intend to have a statutory ceremony in the Registrar Office, the full cost of £46 must be paid when giving your notice.
