Lambeth Simple Funeral

Lambeth Bereavement Services can advise and arrange a cremation without the need for a traditional funeral director by offering the Lambeth Simple Funeral, a direct service for those who may be constrained by budget or wish for a simple, dignified funeral.

The service can take place at Lambeth Crematorium or West Norwood Crematorium.

The Lambeth Simple Funeral service does include:

• Collection into our care of the person who has died
• Completion of statutory medical papers
• Cremation costs
• Provision of a coffin suitable for cremation
• Provision of a container for ashes - that can be returned within 2 working days of the service
• Arranging of a date and time for the cremation service, convenient to both parties - Monday to Friday ONLY
• Attended crematorium service of 45 minutes in total
• Choice of music
• Option to book an attended ceremony to scatter ashes in the Remembrance Garden or Chapel Lawn on weekdays
• General advice on bereavement support - probate, registrars, charities

The Lambeth Simple Funeral service does not include:

• Hygienic treatment (embalming or preparation for viewing)
• Viewing of the deceased in our care or any requests to dress in own clothes or enter the chapel outside of the agreed cremation time
• Weekend or Bank Holiday bookings
• Provision of a minister or celebrant
• Transporting the deceased into our care from over 10 miles away – an additional mileage fee would apply
• Conveyance of the deceased anywhere other than our mortuary
• Webcasting services – these can be added at the current fee

Cost of the service

• £1,767 - if collection of the deceased is during working hours (Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm)
• £1,912 - if collection of the deceased is outside the above working hours

Payments must be made before the due date of the funeral. If this fee is not paid, the funeral may be postponed or cancelled.

Prices are for cremation only. Burial may be available at a further cost.
