Places at all providers must be arranged via the Short Breaks Co-ordinator and are subject to an assessment to ensure the project can meet individual needs.

Demonstrate! Project at Brixton House Theatre

Ages

  • 8 to 14 years old

Support levels

  • 12 spaces are available.
  • 10 for children and young people with one-to-one support and 2 with two-to-one support.

Holiday playschemes

  • Monday to Friday
  • February half term – 1 week
  • Summer break - 3 weeks in 2022, 2 weeks 2023 onwards.
  • October half term – 1 week

Transport

  • Pick up starts 10:00am, depending on where young people live
  • Drop off from 2:00pm to be home by 3:00pm depending on where the young people live
  • Activity hours are 11.30am to 2.00pm

  • 25 to 29 July, Family interactive play, Theatre 2
  • 1 to 5 August, Work in progress sharing, Theatre 2
  • 8 to 12 August, Photography Exhibition, Theatre 2/Exhibition space

Healthy snack

  • A healthy snack and refreshments are provided during the lunchbreak

Family sharing

  • On Fridays we share what we have been working on each week at the new Brixton House Theatre with parents and carers.

Activities include:

  • Art workshop - 3D banner making and mono printing onto t-shirts 
  • Music- creating scores working with a sound engineer using obscure objects
  • Dance- using a digital tool kit, Dancing to Art, Dancing to Sound, Dancing to an Object
  • Media - Photography workshop and exhibition        
  • Performing arts

Grove Adventure Playground

Ages

  • 6 to 15 years old

Support levels

  • 10 spaces are available.
  • 2 spaces for children and young people with one-to-one support and 8 with one-to-four support needs.
  • Not appropriate for those with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

After school club

  • Wednesday after school, from 3:00 to 6:00pm
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – SEND children and young people can play accompanied by parents or carers.

Transport

  • For children and young people who receive transport, SEND Transport may be able to arrange drop-off after school. No transport home.

Activities at the Wednesday After School Club include:

Oasis Adventure Playground – Bolton Crescent in Kennington

  • 6-25 years old

  • Able to support at two-to-one, one-to-one and one-to-four levels
  • Appropriate for neurodiverse children and young people and wheelchair users.
  • We welcome all disabled children and young people to join our inclusive after school club sessions at the Adventure Playground. It’s a fun space for children to make choices, take risks and have freedom within their play.

  • Adventure Playground open Saturdays 10:30am to 4:00pm

  • We offer this to siblings of any of our short breaks users if they want to attend with their siblings.

  • Children must start attending before they are 11, but will be able to stay until 14 depending on their needs
