The upcoming meeting dates for the 2024-25 academic year are:
- Tuesday 6 May (1pm to 4pm)
- Tuesday 8 July (9am to 4pm)
Meetings take place at Elm Court School (SW2 2EF).
Who can attend the SENDCO Network meetings?
The SENDCO Network meetings are open to all SENDCO's across Lambeth's primary and secondary schools. Sessions must be booked via Lambeth School Services.
A separate Early Years SEN Network is available for Lambeth childcare providers to join. Invitations to these network meetings are sent to providers separately.
Meeting agendas
There are six SENDCO Network meetings per academic year, two per term. Sessions are facilitated by the the Lambeth Area SENDCO team.
Each meeting will include one or other aspects of the following:
- local and national developments in SEND
- funding for SEN
- achievement and progress of pupils with SEND
- development of moderation and peer reviews
- keeping up to date with Ofsted requirements
- sessions on a range of special educational needs
- sharing best practice across the Local Authority
Meetings also include updates on local and national developments in SEND, opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of what outstanding learning and progress look like, and support for approaching an Ofsted inspection.
We also look at specific special educational needs and strategies for support, and SENDCOs have opportunities to network. A range of multi-agency stakeholders will be invited to present to ensure that SENDCOs are aware of best practice for supporting pupils in schools and the support available in Lambeth.
All notes of meetings and presentations will be made available to SENDCOs following the meetings.
Benefits of the network
- SENDCOs in Lambeth will be up to date with local and national developments
- SENDCOs will be confident to approach an Ofsted inspection, knowing the strengths and weaknesses of their own provisions, with evidence to support
- Pupils with SEND will meet expected outcomes and/or exceed expectations
- SENDCOs will share their good practice and deepen their knowledge and understanding of a range of special educational needs
- SENDCOs will be knowledgeable of the multi-agency services available in Lambeth to support children, young people and their families.
- SENDCOs will be confident in planning, delivering (or delegating) and monitoring early intervention to meet the needs of pupils with SEND or emerging SEND.
